Razterized is the freelance design company of Mike Rasbury and associates. The attached blog, his soapbox. He is a part Dutch, part Ukrainian, mostly American twenty-something hailing from the sasquatch-filled streets of Seattle. The last ten years he has spent pounding the pavement, collecting contract work from companies like Microsoft and Amazon as well as serving local small businesses in their web efforts. His education was built on experience gained over the years, until he landed at Seattle Central Community College. Shortly thereafter, he began his teaching career on the very same campus.

After building an army skilled in Adobe Flash, Illustrator and standards compliant CSS, he pulled a reverse-Carradine and journeyed to Japan to supplant his blooming love of the language and culture. It was a fateful trek, especially after visiting the industrial shores of 横浜「Yokohama」. He didn’t want to leave. However, he returned to Seattle, rain-thirsty and with a slight career detour in mind. Keeping to teaching, he traded in design for language as a part-time ESL (English as a Second Language) instructor and tutor.

A picture of the guy who made this.

Armed with knowledge of English, Français,日本語, 한국어, Español and more, coupled with a sturdy teaching background, he and razterized hope to continue helping small business, but with an aim toward helping those whose first language may not be english and the international markets.

Mike lives with his malamute princess, Molotov Houdini (yes, that’s her real name) in Seattle while engaged in a semi-regular love affair with Yokohama, Japan. He is a puddle-jumper; a lazy-sartorialist; a sneaker-worshipper; a volleyball enthusiast; an お好み焼き master and a hopeless bookworm who likes yeti, ウルトラマン and thinks magic tricks are cool.

When he’s not designing, teaching, or learning new languages, you can find him writing novels that will never get published, playing volleyball at local gyms, singing カラオケ / 노래방 and playing lethal dog-doo minesweeper at the dog park.
